Week 3 Sketching Techniques

This weeks lesson task was about making a illustration for a Banana and range Juice. To do this i first started with making sketches, 15 small sketches of ideas i could work on develop later in illustrator.

After making the sketvhes i culd finally start building the label up in Illustrator and these are the diffrent results i ended up with

My finall result of the product, was this. the blue is included to make contrast between the label and the bottle.

Lesson task week 2 Rice package

Another one of our tasks was to reasearch rice packageing, find out what already exists and create something new using the SCAMPER method. This is my result.

S – I would first off like to substitute the meterial its made of with something more eco friendlt, biodegradble. That prefrebly can be used again.

C – We can combine the packaging with a transperent meterial on one side, taht will show how much is left. It could either show this in liters or portions.

A – We can adapt the packaging, by making it easier to open. Instead of opening trough the side we hadd a screw top that can be removed and put back on.

M – Modify the package, by making it smaller once its empty or less rice in it. This way it wont take up too much space.

P – When the package is empty you could clean it and use it for storage, or cut it open and use it for a flower pot. This way it will be part of something else.

E – Eliminate the big plastic bags you get the rice in today, and the way you open the pacakage by apply the screw top. Also making it savfer for the enviorment.

R – You could reverse it by buying new rice from the store to keep in it. Or rearrange it to be smaller once it is empty. Youre also reverisng the use of a milk cartoon by using it for rice instead.

Lesson Task week 2 SCAMPER McDonald

In this part of the lesson task we where intrdused to the SCAMPER model. Our task was to reasearch McDonalds and how they have used the SCAMPER method to succeed.

The SCAMPER method:

McDonald was originally started by Maurice (Mac) and Richard McDonald. McDonalds originally started out as a small business with little options on their menu. They focused on keeping their business quick while keeping the quality of their products.

Today McDonald is a worldwide known chain, and one of the biggest in the fast food industry. You can find a McDonald on every corner of every city. Their success is built on how quick they were able to give out their product to the costumer and how satisfied the customer was with the quality.

You can easily see how McDonald has used the SCAMPER model to help with their success.

S – Substituting something: McDonalds today do not have the traditional way of ordering food. Today instead of talking to a waiter, you can simply order the food trough a app or a screen they have in the restaurant. You also pick up your food yourself.

C – Combine with something else: Every McDonald you will find today has a drive through, which means you can order food straight from your car. No need to get out and go inside, everything will come to you. Ray Krock came up with this idea. Also, the happy meals combined with a children’s toy, targets children.

A – Adapt: McDonalds adapted by making their mascot Ronald McDonald. He was created to help advertise the fast food chain and draw in costumers.

M – Modify, Magnify, minify: They modified their menus by creating different sections for breakfast, lunch and usual fast food.

P – Put to another use: Today you can reserve McDonalds for special events like a child’s birthday party to celebrate.

E – Eliminate: They eliminated the traditional menus by using online menus or menus trough screen, they also eliminated the traditional waiter staff, by having the customer pick up their own food and order trough screens.

R – Reverse, Rearrange: Trough the times McDonalds have changed the layout of their restaurants, menus and logo.

Lesson Task Week 2 Spoon Scamper

You are given a teaspoon as an object. Now apply each one of the SCAMPER techniques to it and give a brief explanation of what new product comes of this and how it can be marketed.

S – Subsitute, replace the metaeral the spoon is made off with something more eco friendly or biodegradable.

C – Combine, Make t possible to combine th spoon with a fork or knife or both.

A – Adapt, Make the colour of the spoon able to read temprature. Making the colour darker if its too hot or disappear if its too cold.

M – Modify, Make the spoon bendable so that you can create a set for campers, where you can roll up the cutlery and put it in a small container.

P – Put to another use.

E – Elminate, Make the handle detachable so you can switch it out with a fork head or nife head.

R – reverse or rearange Make it possible to attach the spoon head on both sides of the handle. This way you can reaarnge the position of where you wnat it. Or add a fork or knife on the opposite side.

This product can be marketed for campers, as itstakes little space, yu get more in one and the spoon has the useful temprature colours.

Lesson Task week 2 Idea development Riddles

Question 1: We where given four riddles to solve.

Riddle 1: A man is replacing a wheel on his car, when he accidentally drops the four nuts used to hold the wheel on the car. They fall into a deep drain, irretrievably lost. A passing girl offers him a solution that enables him to drive home. What is it?

Solution: The girl pointed out that his ar has four wheels, and therefore if he take one nut from each of the other wheels he would be able to fasten the fourth wheel. And from there he would be able to drive home by himself.

Riddle 2: Two Russians walk down a street in Moscow. One Russian is the father of the other Russian’s son. How are they related?

Solution: The other Russian is the mother of the son, therefore they are in a coparenting relationship.

Riddle 3: What occurs once in June, once in July and twice in August?

Solution: If you look at the names of the month, you will notice the letter U is mentioned once in both June and July but twice in August.

Riddle 4: Six drinking glasses stand in a row, with the first three full of water and the next three empty. By handling and moving only one glass at a time, how can you arrange the six glasses so that no full glass stands next to another full glass, and no empty glass stands next to another empty glass? What is the minimum number of moves to solve this puzzle?

Solution: You move the middle full glass and pour the water into the middle empty glass, that way you seperate them all so no full glass and no empty glass is besides eachother.

11.08.2020- 17.08.2020 Graphic design

Introduction

Hello My name is Stine, but you may call me Sam. This is my reflective journal where i will be posting trough my journy to become a graphic designer.

I study graphic design with Noroff, as a online study. My journy here started in elementary school when i went to art school for the first time. It inspired me to live a more creative life. i went from there to studying Media and communication in my 11th and 12th year, where i for the first time got to try out graphic design! I also studied Cosplay at folkehøgskole for a year.

My interest lays mostly in art or creative writing, i love going for mountain hikes and just relaxing. I usually bring my dear dog.

I hope for the future to be able to work within graphic design! And build myself up as a person.

First Lesson Task!

Our very first lesson task in this adventure, was to familiaries ourselves with Moodle. Moodle is our learning platform, where we have access to teachers other students and our homework/Tasks. Here i will post photos of my introduction, my moodle map and my profile! My moodle map is how i see moodle, basically i see it as my work desk, thats filled with reasearch, ideas, inspiration, illustrations and learning.
